Shubhashita-a guiding light

Sanskrit has inexhaustible collection of “Shubhashitas” in form of quotes, anecdotes and moral stories. They are a guiding principle for any activity with the intention of universal good. They guide us in our day to day life giving us valuable lessons in life.

There is a shubhashita on shubhashita itself!! it says:

Prithviyam triNi ratna: jala,anna,shubhashitam;

mooDhau pashaN khandeshu ratna sau~dnya vidhiyate

There are three jewels in this world: water,food and shubhashita; fool is a person who instead of following these three, falls for a piece of stone thinking it as a jewel.

Shubhashita on humanity:

sarve bhavantu sukhinaḥ| sarve santu nirāmayāḥ
sarve bhadrāṇi paśyantu| mā kaścit duḥkha bhāgbhavet

Happiness be unto all; let everybody be in perfect health; May all see good in everyone and  be free from sufferings,sorrows.

Oh wait! there are shubhshitas which can be applied to us blogging and bloggers too (Wow isn’t that something?!)

Ushtranam vivaheshu gito gayanti gardhabani
Parasparam prashanshayante, aho rupam, aho dhvani

In the wedding of camel, donkey sings and they praise each other saying: what a voice; what beauty!!

:P that doesn’t mean bloggers are camels or donkeys but with so many blogging sites anybody can write anything and the sites will do the rest i.e to get attention/ page views blogging sites will show related posts on each other sites or posts this way by visiting other’s posts,and they visiting ours, thus we can admire each other ;-)
